Alexandra Holovchenko was born in Ukraine.
In her work, the artist turns to traditional media in painting. Alexandra creates works that, at first sight, immerse the viewer in a strong emotional contact with the painting through compositional solutions, shape and colors that go beyond traditional realism, showing a new fresh look and experience on figurative art.
She tries to encourage the viewers to become familiar with the painting and focus on their personal feelings through this visual experience. Alexandra creates worlds where the change of reality begins with the exploration of the hero of his perception. Where magic is intertwined with internal conflict.
Since learning to paint, Alexandra's work has always used figures as the main subject. The heroes of the artist's paintings, most often young and female, find themselves drawn into a long journey of their own inner pursuit and confrontation.
A pronounced theme in the artist's work is the desire to convey the beauty of the female body, dressed in realism, sometimes covered with embarrassment or its likeness (playing a good girl) is often replaced by a false sense of permissiveness. Naked confrontation at its most direct presentation.
Recently, Alexandra's works have seen an appeal to the oil brushstroke as a guide to the world of orderly chaos. The sharpness of the stroke is a tool for returning to the inner source of confidence.
The artist currently resides in Belgium. Her works are in private collections.
The main material Alexandra works with is oil paint. She also works with acrylic to create murals and street art.
